Night Flights by seafaringgypsy Night Flights by seafaringgypsy
This is a an image from the flight deck of the USS Enterprise CVN 65 during night flight operations. You're looking at 12 launches and 2 recoveries that night. Special thanks to Milosz Reterski for the tip. Tosh, you're the Cy Young winner, I just throw strikes.

When I worked the flight deck on JFK and TR I took a lot of images. But never got to do night shoots. My camera of the time was just not up to it.

This is excellent.

Thank you for stopping by and especially for the comment.
I swung by your gallery as a matter of course, and I really dig your nature images. In fact, I just faved one. I have to get my camera up into the mountains more. What about you, is there something you haven't tried yet but you're aching to?

Great shot.

You've really caputerd the speed of the plane, and still keep the bridge sharp.
Another :+fav: from you're great work :)

I really envy you, the luxury of a "real" ship. I'm in the Belgian navy, I'm on the biggest, meanest, thoughest ship we have. A 120 yard frigate :ashamed:
Enjoy,... and let me know if you ever need someone to carry your cameras and lenses :)

Cheers!
