Prop Arc by seafaringgypsy Prop Arc by seafaringgypsy
Not all aircraft are jets, obviously. This particular flight deck crewman is helping to direct the prop-driven aircraft we have on board. Don't worry folks, that scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark was not what happened next.

They can have their wings folded with engines running? Is that like a hydraulic system that runs the wings being folded? Great shot.

Neat shot...looks like an SE-2. Had a couple friends back in college that flew them. Created a bit of an international incident by wrapping their sonar cable around the bridge of a Russian "trawler" that was shadowing the fleet while they were on maneuvers in the Mediterranian during the Viet Nam conflict. LOL. Not to mention that things at that time were a bit dicey between Egypt and Israel, too. I don't remember which carrier they were on at the time as they rotated between land bases and carriers. :D

Sorry, been away for a bit, but thanks for the comments. They really are appreciated. The Enterprise has been around for quite some time now. She was on the scene during the Cuban Missile Crisis, Vietnam, hell you name it, she was probably there.

Yup...and I even had a model of it...:D Those were nervous times back during the Cuban Crisis. I remember my uncle being prevented from retiring from the air force. :D

I think I had a model of it too, come to think of it.

The missile crisis must have been pretty surreal to experience. I get a kick out of the rush to buy fallout shelters.

LOL There were a lot of holes dug in backyards about that time....:D I remember the old Science Mechanics magazine or maybe it was Mechanics Illustrated back then even had plans available for building your own shelters...or even using building them in a corner of one's basement and air filters to block the 'radioactive' fallout infiltrating the shelter. :D Come to think of it, I even had a model of the "Washington" nuclear submarine that sported the Polaris missiles. It's interesting to watch the history channel nowdays recapping the happenings back then.
